Role Overview
Mehermedics is recruiting Medical Device Engineers on behalf of our hospital partners who are expanding their technology infrastructure. This is a specialist technical role bridging clinical operations and advanced medical technology. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of high-value diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, ensuring devices comply with regulatory standards and are available and safe for clinical use at all times.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, configure and maintain medical devices including imaging systems, infusion pumps, ventilators and monitoring equipment
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules in accordance with manufacturer and regulatory requirements
• Conduct risk assessments and safety testing on new and existing equipment
• Liaise with clinical staff, procurement teams and external vendors on device performance and procurement decisions
• Manage device incident investigations and root cause analyses
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and equipment registers
Requirements & Qualifications
• Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics or closely related discipline
• Professional registration with the relevant engineering body (where applicable)
• Minimum 3 years post-graduation experience with clinical medical devices in a hospital setting
• In-depth understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks (FDA, CE, TGA, etc.)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills
